Our Gothic Tour begins at our shop on the street Judici 3, where we will pick you up and take you to one of the oldest areas of Barcelona – El Borne. El Borne used to be part of another big quarter that was destroyed when Catalonia lost its independence for the last time. Here, you can still find old buildings (like Church Santa Maria del Mar), old streets, and experience the ambience of Barcelona 300 years ago. We will also pass Ciutadella Park, which is an area steeped in history – Citadella Park used to be a huge fortress, and then (much to the joy of the population) was then transformed into the beautiful park that we see today.
We will also visit the Gothic Quarter, which seams a lot older than it actually is. You will see its small streets, poetic buildings, and hear the marvellous music of the street musicians.
El Raval was the most dangerous area in 90s of the last century, but, as we pass through, you will notice that it is very calm now, which is mostly due to its area of museums and libraries.
Our last stop on the Gothic Tour will be in Barceloneta, area of fishermen, this was built for people who wanted to revolt 300 years ago.
A great tour delving into the deep dark depths of our history. Perfect for those with a hunger for knowledge, and a desire to discover interesting places.
